COVID-19: Important Update for Summer 2020

Statement About COVID-19

Barely a month ago, the coronavirus was barely a blip on the radar for most people. That is certainly not true any longer. I don’t believe I know anyone whose life has not been changed over the last couple of weeks and those of us within the faith community are not immune to the effects of this pandemic.

We have withheld comment until now just because we honestly don’t know what the future will look like. These are uncharted waters for all of us but one thing we do know, God is in control. While our world has been rocked, His eternal plan marches forward. So we will continue to trust Him to provide for all our needs and we will look to Him for direction and wisdom in this situation.

As we wait, we want to do what we can to prepare for the coming months. We’ve already fielded some contacts about spring events and our summer schedule. At this time we are keeping all events scheduled for May 1st and later on our calendar and hoping to proceed as planned. This includes our Spring workday, May 16.

We have made the decision to reschedule our 5k/10k/Fun Run for the fall. More information will be available on our Facebook page as soon as the details are confirmed.

Moving forward we will adjust plans as necessary based on prayerful consideration and as we follow the regulations and advice of local, state, and federal agencies. We will do our best to effectively communicate any changes as decisions are made.

If you have any questions about South Mountain Baptist Camp’s upcoming programs or our policies surrounding the current situation, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Our staff is continuing to work during this time and is available to answer your questions.
