My favorite moment of this summer was on the first week. There was a kid named Kevin* and he had a hard home life, that I was aware of before camp even started. His parents did not have much to do with him and his grandparents, who had a very busy schedule, raised him. He was starved for attention and love.
Working with him that week was a blessing. Giving him the love he always wanted and ministering to him at the same time was so rewarding. Seeing a quiet kid that never smiled, blossom into a kid whose face was filled with happiness was my favorite thing this past summer.
