My favorite time during this past summer was when I was the staffer for Concord Baptist Church and I was praying for one of their lost boys. The counselors told me this camper rarely let anyone get close to him and was not always the best behaved. On the first night of church devotions, he came and sat beside of me and gave me a huge heartwarming smile! During the entire week at devotions, he came straight to me and sat near me the whole time.
At the end of the week, he came downstairs for decision night. He came straight to me and told me he asked Jesus into his heart. The next morning, he was the most energetic and happy kid I’ve ever seen.
(This event happened in 2014. Since that year Michael has been serving in the Old Guard with the Army and is getting married in July of 2016. He is pictured here with his sister Heather, who, also, worked at camp.)
