After church devotions, I felt God wanted me to talk to a little girl and share the gospel with her. So I started sharing my testimony and she began to tell me what she was going though in her life. I had experienced many of the same things she was sharing with me, so we connected through these struggles. The next morning she ran up to me and excitedly said to me, “I got saved. I got saved.” She was just so happy! This became my favorite moment all summer.
One of my favorite moments this summer began Friday morning of the last kids' week. Our speaker, Ms. Sandy, pulled me aside while we were in the kitchen. She told me that one of the counselors wanted her to tell the boy (me, Bryan) that shared his testimony last night (Thursday night) because of his testimony, a little girl, who went through a similar situation, accepted Christ as her personal Savior that night. The little girl who chose to follow Christ said that if Bryan could do it, she could do it. That was my favorite moment of the summer, because it just shows the importance of sharing our faith and being courageous. We never understand why we go through situations in life, but God ends up blessing us. Hearing this camper’s reaction to my testimony was a true blessing and very humbling.
We sent the fall newsletter to the printer and you can expect it in your mailbox in early October. Look for stories about the exciting things the Lord is doing on and off the mountain, as well as ways you can help prepare for next summer!
We were also honored to host a couple of retreats this month. One was big enough to call in the reserves to help cook, they were thrilled to be back together again! Let us know your retreat needs, we would love to help any way we can!
