My favorite moment this summer was when I got to talk to a child about Jesus. This had never happened to me before. But when I opened my mouth, it seemed like everything I needed to say came out! It was amazing! It’s really hard to explain the way I felt when I started talking to him. It was definitely a God thing. God can do amazing things.
What amazing thing has God done in your life?
Heather Weaklend's favorite moment of camp:
Sandy Noe was our speaker for the first three weeks of camp this year. After the first two weeks, I heard Dustin ask Sandy if she would give the staff her testimony for staff devotions on Wednesday night. When she answered, “Yes,” I was so excited because I love every story she has ever shared with us. I was ready for this big elaborate story about her entire life.
On Wednesday night, she opened in prayer and then told us to ask her questions about her life. I was scared that no one would ask her questions and it would just be awkward. But people started asking her some really good questions. She ended up telling us about her adult life, marriage, kids, and career. She even told us how old she was!
We laughed and cried with each other, as she told us of the good and bad times. I loved every minute of it!
What is your favorite moment of camp?
One of my favorite moments from camp this year was the 3rd week when I had Lattimore Baptist Church’s kids as my group. I got to help lead devotions on the first night. On the second day, I got to know the guys a little better. After Talent Show on Tuesday night, we walked the uptop trail to the outdoor chapel. While at the outdoor chapel we made time to be silent and pray to God. After a few moments of silence, I got to go with the guys over to the basketball court. We talked about camp and what they liked, and then they asked me questions. They had great questions about faith and we talked about why people don’t believe in God. The best part was one of those guys, who was my lost camper, came to know Christ.
