One week, I had the privilege to get close to a camper named Malik. From the beginning, I could tell his heart was full of joy. Each day he would share a song with the rest of the campers. He would always be the first kid to talk to me.
Thursday night, I was sitting beside him as the gospel was shared. Tears began to stream down his face as the Holy Spirit began to move his heart. He talked to me downstairs about how he felt like he never had been saved. I was able to talk with him further and encourage him. I asked him if he would be willing to share what he had happened to him and he said, “Yes!” He approached Mischia and shared his full testimony with such eloquence! It was so awesome to see how God worked in his life throughout the week.
During Youth Mission Week this summer, I watched as God worked in Forest Hill Baptist Church’s youth group. God had laid it on my heart to pray consistently for them. On the first night of camp during devotions, they shared what they wanted to get out of this week. Many said they looked forward to chapel, going to the mission sites, and other activities. However, some shared they wanted to grow as a youth group. I really could relate to this, so I continue to pray for their group.
As the week went on, God really showed up during devotions. On the last night, we let everyone share how they saw and heard God. It was amazing to see how in 5 days, God changed the atmosphere of the group and brought them, not only closer to Him, but also to each other.
