One week I had a camper who was in 1st grade and she was one of my lost campers. I felt really bad because by Thursday I hadn’t had an opportunity to talk to her. I’d shared my testimony at devotions, but I wanted to talk to her more.
At Rec she fell down and scraped her knee so I took her to the Rec shed and Matt put a Band-Aid on her knee. Walking back, I asked her what she had learned in Bible study that morning. I knew she had heard the gospel that morning so I asked if she had learned about Jesus dying on the cross. She said, “Yes.” But, by then we had rejoined the group and I was feeling depressed at what I thought was another missed opportunity.
BUT, Thursday night she came downstairs and I had the opportunity to talk to her about why she responded to the invitation. As I listened to her, I realized she knew what Jesus had done for her! It was great to talk to her about Jesus and know she is now my sister-in-Christ!
